we won a merit award!! haha!! we won something!!!
i really couldnt believe my ears when the prof mentioned T016..i was hoping that he'd announce our team..but it wasnt like a serious hope kinda thing..i wouldnt have been devastated or anything if we didnt win something..but i never expected to actually get a merit award!! ahahha cos the judges spent all of 5 mins at our booth..and like 10-15 mins at others..and they didnt exactly seem blown away by our humble bookstand..but somehow..by God's grace!!
there were 3 top prizes and 2 merit awards out of 15 teams in our category.. :)

but we got a measly $250 to split among 12 people..compared to the top prize of $1400..oh well..at least there's something to cover my bus fare for the past 5 weeks..

oh and Cars was a pretty good show! cute and entertaining..but it's those feel-good kind of show la..well what would you expect from a pixar-disney cartoon?! definitely worth the 7 bucks i paid though.. :)

i think singapore should build a soccer team. a full-time, full-fledged soccer team. one that trains everyday..with players who are quialified and of international standard or at least regional standard. i have nothing against our current soccer team..they're great..but if singapore manages to one day..ONE DAY make it to the world cup..woah! imagine the patriotism man. more than anything the government could ever hope for or ever achieve through all their "i love singapore" campaigns!! and those soccer players will become so famous they wont be able to eat at tiong bahru market in peace (yay it reopened!!)

if they cant manage to form a world-class soccer team, forming a team of world-class corruption-free referees isnt too bad altogether! and every singaporean can be proud of their law-enforcing referees..and if you were the referee..can you imagine running alongside ronaldhino and zidane and beckham on the pitch?? oh wow! every boy's dream i'd imagine..and you'd be in full control of 22 men..every girl's dream i'd imagine too..(you'll have the last say in every argument!! haha)
